Projects from the Yarn Tasters' Club

1 1

Like dappled light filtered through the trees in a woodland glade, colours play across the surface of this delicate capelet.

Highlighting the warm, rich tones of the handpainted yarn, it is worked in the round from the bottom up in the ever-popular Feather and Fan Stitch. Raglan-style decreases are inserted along both sides to the shoulders so that the Feather and Fan Stitch pattern is disturbed as little as possible.

The result is a light, airy piece which will adorn any outfit, whether formal or casual.

Wear it on its own over an evening gown or pair it with a shirt for a more casual look.

The sample pictured is knit with Handmaiden Fine Yarn Silk Twist, 65% wool, 35% silk, (400 m./437 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour "Paris".
