Like the musical symbol for increasing volume, the Crescendo shawl gradually grows wider at both ends.
It does so with a series of short rows which add volume and drape, creating a shawl with unique shaping. Its versatility also allows it to be worn as a capelet when pinned at the side or front.
The sample pictured is knit with Handmaiden Fine Yarn Silk Twist, 65% wool, 35% silk, (400 m./437 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour "Champagne".
