The central motif for the border of these socks is the Latvian sun symbol. This particular variation of this symbol also reminds me of a Ferris wheel, hence the name "Fairground".
A symbol for optimism and the source for reinvigorating all life, it contains within it the joy and pleasure of a day at the fair.
