In Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold, three Rhinemaidens guard the precious gold which is safely hidden in the depths of the Rhine River. They understand the powerful value of the Rhine gold and are committed to protecting it.
The Rhinemaiden cape, with its rippling stitch motif, echoes the fluid environment the Rhinemaidens inhabit. Worked in the round from the bottom up, it shapes into a cape that has a longer back section. This also allows it to be worn in an asymmetrical fashion, if you choose to do so.
