Antonia, the fragile singer, is one of Hoffmann’s loves in Offenbach’s opera Les Contes d’Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann). Her shawl reflects the delicate and translucent quality of her character.
Worked in stepped stages to form a triangular shape, it is easily sized and adapted to your preference. A top border worked with short rows adds shaping so that the shawl sits easily on the shoulders.
Wear it pinned in a formal way or tie it at the front for a more casual look.
The pattern includes directions for two versions: as a Shoulderette (as pictured) and as a full-size shawl.
