The bleak tundra has its own
stark beauty: colours subtle in hue and variation; textures
of stone and rock; shapes formed by frost and minimal vegetation.
Yet life survives and endures, even in this harshest of environments.
The Tundra cowl both warms and adorns the shoulders, neck,
and head. Worked from the bottom up, it can be adjusted in
length. Work it as a simple rolled neck cowl. Or knit the
neck and head portion to an extreme length—as pictured
here—for a richly folded cowl.
The sample pictured is knit with Noro Silk Garden,
45% silk, 45% kid mohair, 10% lamb’s wool, (100 m.
per 50 g. ball), colour No. 268.
