Ravelympics Project Finished

Well, I made it to the Finish Line, but I will have to wait for the results to come in before I know whether I got a medal or not.
I sewed the buttons and the seams as I watched the closing ceremonies. Ta--dah!
My Ravelympics project was rather different from what I feel comfortable doing--which was the whole point of the exercise. To stretch the boundaries.
The colours are bolder, more highly contrasting, more primary than I usually choose. I wasn't sure whether I would like working with them. But they were fun: unpredictable, sparkling, full of light and surprises as I worked along. The yarn was also a chunkier yarn than I usually choose.

The yarn is Fleece Artist's Big Blue. 100% Blue-Faced Leicester wool, my absolute favourite breed of wool to work. Not too soft and not rough either. Just the right balance of structure, body, and comfort.
The result is a jacket, worked sideways with a version of the Feather and Fan Stitch. I am not showing the whole piece here, because I still have to write the pattern, have it tested and edited, photographed, etc. Here's a sneak peak at the collar, though. I like how that turned out.

My plan is to release the pattern for the fall and winter, since this is more of a garment for cold weather wear.
I also want to see how it looks on my model, Hannah, before I decide whether this is a winner or not.
