Berry Hill
Another design from the Landscape Collection is the cropped vest, Berry Hill.
I was ready to move away from working with fingering and other light weight yarns and begin to try my hand at some chunky varieties. When I saw some skeins of Scotian Silk in the "Origin" colourway, it reminded me of the colour of berries, including the yellow-orange of the bakeapple (a.k.a. cloudberry) found in more northern climes.
Berry Hill has a slightly asymmetrical front closure which you can emphasize even more with a pair of special buttons.
The piece is a study in contrasts: a textured stitch pattern, "Granite Ridge Stitch" for the yoke and an easy lace pattern for the body.
Because this pattern is worked from the top down, it is open to all kinds of interpretations. If you have enough yarn, you can lengthen the vest to any length you like. Just continue with the pattern repeats, which you will have memorized well by the time you come to lengthening.
When you get to the sleeves, you can also make these longer. Add the lace portion as you work, or maintain the textured stitch pattern for the full length.
