Announcing the Far North Collection

My Fall and Winter 2010 collection of knitting patterns will focus on that haunting and mysterious place: the Far North.
Being a Northern myself, I have always been attracted to the colours (yes, the colours, however subtle they may be) and moods of the North. It is my natural home. So I am delighted to be able to share my love of this striking landscape with others.

As we did with the Linen Collection, these designs will be released one at a time each month, beginning in mid-September. Some have been asking about seeing the designs beforehand, but I will be doing the same as I did before--and pursue the club idea. The designs will remain a mystery until each goes up on my website each month between September and December.
This is what you can expect in this series of patterns:
1. A generous cowl with optional hood--perfect for keeping you warm from winter winds. It would also make a wonderful gift for a friend or loved one.
2. A wrap/vest--a cozy, yet elegant garment
3. Leg warmers or knitted sleeves, depending on how you choose to wear them. You can also take one of them and wear it as a scarf and pin it into place.
4. A warm jacket in aran weight yarn.

Each design uses a different knitting technique. So just like the International Year of the Scarf Club, this is an opportunity to practise different styles of knitting. There is some colourwork as well as some stratightforward knitting. Something for every mood, yet each one echoing the song of the North.
If you pre-order the Far North Collection now, you can receive all four designs for $28.00 CAD. This is a saving of 33% off the full retail price.
Come travel the North with me!
