Crazy for Stripes

Another obsession is brewing--stripes!
In the photo above, I am mixing it up with Kauni, the wool yarn from Denmark that comes with the longest colour repeats anywhere. The colourway is "Columbine" (Kauni EA).
I have always loved stripes. All kinds of stripes. Vivacious, cabana stripes. Cool Scandinavian stripes. Subtle neutrals, almost not-there stripes. Stark contrasts, black-on-white stripes. I don't think I have ever met a stripe I didn't like.
Lately I have been indulging my passion for stripes and am happily playing with them again. Swatching them, designing with them, incorporating them into new patterns, even felting them.
Some I have worked out myself, using favourite colours, in a sequence that pleases me.

Here I am playing with Lucy Neatby's Blue-Faced Leicester Aran yarn in cool blues and burgundy.
But then I fall in love with a yarn that does all the striping for me, like Zitron's Loft in a rainbow sequence:

Lucky for me, it was available at my LYS. But now I can't stop knitting with it, as I can't wait to see which colour will appear next. It's enough to give me RSI again.
I just want to make more and more stripes...
