Spring Prospect

Finally the prospect of a proper hike at Prospect...
Last week, with the springlike weather, came the possibility for a long hike along some of Nova Scotia's most beautiful shoreline. Most of it pure rock, to be sure. But fascinating, beautiful rock, nonetheless.

I have long had a love affair with rocks. My home is strewn with them, rocks in bowls, on trays, on table tops. Hardly a single room is without its share of rocks. I am never without creative inspiration when there are rocks about. Once can contemplate them endlessly.
Not only rocks, but walls of stone, too...

Each with its own narrative.
I could have been happily occupied with my camera within a single area of a few square metres. But a hike was on the agenda for the afternoon.
And as we turned from the infinite variety of greys and blue of the shoreline, we were met with acres and acres of ground cover in burnt sienna, brilliant in the sunshine.

I couldn't help but be reminded of the Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3-Ply colour, "Burnt Sienna".
Here it is again, knit up in the sweater poncho "In the Piazza ":

The perfect garment for warming days.
