Colour for Easter
Forget pink and purple as colours for Easter. This is the one in Euroflax Linen (Fine--Sport Weight).
I cannot wait to start working with this yarn and in this colour.Linen is a much ignored fibre and yet there is nothing to beat it for elegance. Once washed and blocked, it has both body and drape, a combination rarely found.
If you have never worked with linen before, you may find it rather unusual. It has a woody texture and does not have the resiliency and elasticity of wool. But the results of working with linen are worth it.
For summertime wear, it is cool and never sticks to the skin.
It is a much favoured fabric in Europe. Especially in Eastern and Northern Europe, you will find women beautifully draped in natural woven linen shawls and knitted linen outifts. I own a much admired over-sized lace jacket which I purchased in Latvia. It is worked entirely in undyed linen and is a show-stopper.
Oooh, now there's an idea. A lace jacket in linen....
