Bagatelle
The Bagatelle shawl is Pattern No. 5 in the Suite for Short Rows.
Worked in Fleece Artist Sea Wool, this delightful piece reminds me of a bagatelle in music, a short piece, usually for piano. A "character piece", filled with interesting twists and turns.
From the back, it looks like a typical triangular shawl:

But it actually has a rather curving shape (as a result of its short-row construction). When viewed from the front, you can see that its ends come together into ties that give this shawl even more versatility.

Wear it loose as shown above or tie the ends together.

You can even pin and drape it, too.
Bagatelle is worked from the top down with increases built along the central spine. At the same time, short rows are worked down the centre giving the shawl its curvaceous shaping.

The result is a shawl that will sit comfortably on your shoulders.
I loved knitting this piece with the Sea Wool. It is light and easy to work and it has great stitch definition, even with the variegated colourway.
A delicious, summery piece, full of interesting character.
Order the Bagatelle pattern here for $10.00 CAD.
