International Year of the Scarf

I have long been fascinated by the intriguing stripes that are created by many of the self-striping yarns that are now available. I also liked the challenge of using just one skein. What could one make with just one skein?

So the idea for "Five Easy Pieces" was born. Each pattern uses one skein of a self-striping yarn. Most of them are sock weight yarns since these have enough yardage to make a garment actually possible.

Many of the designs are worked from the top down, making it easy to adjust the size to the amount of yarn you have available.

Perfect for gifts, these light and lacy pieces do not take much time to knit. They give delight in their changing colours as you work each one. Knit them in the size shown or make them as large as you like.
